Our Story
Built for a Gap Nobody Filled
Sinar Capital began as a small series of Saturday workshops held in a Subang Jaya community hall. The founder, having spent fifteen years in the insurance industry, kept meeting the same kind of person: someone in their late forties who held three or four policies, paid premiums faithfully every month, and had never once read what those policies actually covered.
The insight was simple: the problem was not that people were careless. The problem was that benefit illustrations and policy contracts were written for industry professionals, not for the households that depended on them. Clear language and a patient teacher could change that.
What started as weekend workshops grew into structured courses delivered in the evenings — at a pace that suited adults with full schedules, family commitments, and no interest in being rushed into a decision they did not understand.
Our Mission
Illumination, Not Advice
We are not here to sell you coverage. We are here to help you understand what you already hold, identify what may be missing, and ask the right questions of your insurer or agent — without pressure and without haste.
Every course at Sinar Capital is built around one belief: that a Malaysian household is better protected when the adults in it understand their coverage than when they simply hold a policy they have never read.
"Coverage you understand is coverage that actually works for you."
— Founding principle, Sinar Capital

How We Work
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
Regulatory Compliance
All financial consultations are conducted by advisers registered with Bank Negara Malaysia. We adhere to the Financial Services Act 2013 framework for educational provision.
Data Privacy
Participant information is handled under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). We do not share your details with insurers, agents, or third-party marketers.
Educational Integrity
Our courses are designed to inform, not to sell. No commission arrangements exist between Sinar Capital and any insurer. Course fees are the only revenue we receive.
Curriculum Accuracy
All course materials are reviewed annually against current policy formats and regulatory guidelines. When rules change — as they did with the phased BSOF medical card revisions — we update promptly.
Accessibility of Language
Every explanation is written at a level accessible to someone without a financial background. Industry jargon is defined on first use and supported by printed glossaries in all course materials.
Conflict-Free Advice
Licensed advisers in our programme sign a conflict-of-interest declaration before each cohort. Their role is to help you understand your coverage, not to recommend changes that benefit anyone commercially.
Our Expertise
What We Know and How We Apply It
The Malaysian insurance and takaful landscape is shaped by Bank Negara Malaysia's regulatory frameworks, the provisions of the Financial Services Act 2013, and the Insurance Act 1996, alongside a growing body of circular guidance on medical card co-payment structures, critical illness product standardisation, and phased benefit revisions. Adults who have held policies since their thirties may find that the terms governing their coverage have changed in ways that were never communicated directly to them.
Sinar Capital builds its courses around this practical knowledge gap. We translate the structure of benefit illustrations, the language of policy endorsements, the logic of co-payment and deductible tiers, and the interplay between private medical insurance and EPF/SOCSO entitlements into plain language that a household can act on. Our instructors combine underwriting experience with adult education methodology — which means sessions are paced for comprehension, not coverage volume.
We operate from Subang Jaya and offer both in-person group sessions across the Klang Valley and evening webinars for participants who prefer to attend from home. All courses are conducted in English, with supplementary reference materials available in Bahasa Malaysia on request.
